US Ambassador to the UK to speak @ London Central Closing Ceremony May 15, 2007

The Honorable Robert Holmes Tuttle, the U.S. Ambassador to the Court of St. James’s, will deliver remarks at the 1:30 p.m. ceremony commemorating the closure of the oldest American high school still operating in the United Kingdom. All alumni, family and friends of London Central are invited to attend.
NOTE: Amb. Tuttle was called away on urgent business and was replaced by the US Deputy Chief of Mission @ the US Embassy in London, Mr. David T. Johnson.

Message from the Principal, Theresa Barba

Dear Students, Teachers,Parents and Members of the London Central Community,

It is with great sadness that I accept the announcement of the closure of London Central School and Dorm. Our school has a rich history and tradition of student achievement and teacher dedication. Current and past students and teachers must hold London Central traditions with great pride. Our school is special because of the people in it and communities we serves. We have held and will continue to hold our focus on high student achievement.

To this end my staff and I dedicate ourselves to supporting the transition of students and teachers to the next steps in their lives after closure. In addition, the Isles District has created a special position at London Central this year. Kay Hilley is the new Transition Coordinator and her goal is to help students and parents find suitable educational alternatives. The Europe military presence is changing. We must accept that and work with DoDDS-E, parents, commanders and community to celebrate the successes of our school and the hope for the future.
